Introduce students to 35 famous American women from US history. Kids will read simple facts about each individual and then practice their writing skills by using the provided information to write sentences. Next, students will edit their sentences. Finally, students practice their handwriting by writing a final copy of their sentences about each woman. For more advanced writers, have them focus on writing a paragraph with connected sentences. Great for Women's History Month and all year long!
Each person comes with a picture that kids can enjoy coloring when they have finished writing. Each person has simple facts given about their life, starting with a verb. This will support English Language Learners (ELLs) and allow all students to focus on writing even if they are not familiar with the person that they are writing about.
