Back to School Routines Sorting and I Can Books

Do your students need visuals and a hands-on activity to help them review school routines? Back to school time is a great opportunity to introduce school routines. Keep the picture sorting cards and worksheets on hand to revisit if necessary throughout the school year.

Sorting Cards

Sorting cards that illustrate positive and negative behavior for the cafeteria, bathroom, classroom, hallway, outdoor recess, and bus. These cards can be used as a part of a beginning-of-the-year classroom routine lesson. The cards have pictures which is helpful for ELL students to visualize the behaviors. The sorting cards are available in color and black and white.

You can also use picture cards as a positive behavior poster for each location.

Sorting Mats

There is a general sorting mat and ones for each location. Use these with the full page sorting cards.

Cut and Paste Worksheets

Also included are sorting mats for each topic, and individual student sorting sheets where students cut out and glue the school behaviors. A great way to get students thinking about school procedures and rules.
