Festivals of Light Reading Passages

Help students learn about festivals of light from around the world. This includes the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah African American holiday of Kwanzaa and the Hindu holiday of Diwali. Through reading passages and activities students will practice their reading comprehension skills as they learn about different festivals of light.

There are picture cards in color and black and white for each holiday. There are also sentence frames to help students talk and write about each holiday or compare and contrast different holidays.

Includes bonus pictures about Yi Peng & Loy Krathong Thai Lantern Festivals, Advent, St. Lucia's Day, and Christmas.

Graphic Organizer & Writing Reflection

There are graphic organizers and a writing reflection question included. Both have two levels, one with a word bank and sentence frames.
