Science Bundle Reading Passages

A science reading passages bundle for multilingual learners (MLs) in grades 2-5, with five sets on biomes, prehistoric life, solar and lunar eclipses, space, and spooky nature.

Students practice the reading comprehension skills of finding the main idea and details and comparing and contrasting. The sets also include graphic organizers, picture vocabulary, one page fold books, and sentence frames.

Differentiated Reading Passages

Most sets include multiple reading passages on the same topic at different reading or language levels. Give students the version that best meets their needs, or use the more detailed passage as an introduction.

Picture Vocabulary Cards

Help students better understand the content of each reading passage with picture vocabulary cards. The cards are also helpful for students to use as a reference when they are speaking and writing about the topic.

Graphic Organizers

Use the graphic organizers to support students as they find the main idea and key details of a text or compare and contrast similar topics.

One Page Fold Books

Many of the sets also include one page fold books. Create a simple book by folding the paper in half two times. Each page has a few simple sentences and visuals to support student comprehension and vocabulary.
