Winter Picture Scenes for ELD

Do your ELLs need practice building their vocabulary? Do you want to use fun winter themed pictures to give them a variety of subjects to talk about? Then, picture scenes are just what you have been looking for.

You can use picture scenes with the picture word induction model (PWIM) to build vocabulary and then help your students write complete sentences.

Picture Mats

Two versions of the picture scene mats are included. One with only the picture and one with many of the nouns and verbs labeled on the side. The picture mats come in color and black and white.

Writing Sheets

There are two versions of the writing sheets included. One with a small version of the picture scene with space around it for labeling and the other with the words on the side and boxes near the pictures for students to label. Both versions have lines for writing.
