Love Holiday Reading Passages

Help students learn about love celebrations from around the world. This includes Valentine's Day in the United States, La Diada de Sant Jordi (St Sordi’s Day) in Barcelona Spain, Dia dos Namorados (Lover’s Day) in Brazil, Tu B’Av a Jewish love holiday, and Dia de Amor y Amistad (Love and Friendship Day) in Colombia. Through reading passages and activities, students will practice their reading comprehension skills as they learn about different holidays that celebrate love.

Differentiated Reading Passages

Each reading passage comes in two reading levels. There are pictures included to support ELLs.

Vocabulary Picture Cards & Sentence Frames

There are picture cards in color and black and white for each holiday. There are also sentence frames to help students talk and write about each holiday or compare and contrast different holidays.

Graphic Organizer & Writing Reflection

There are graphic organizers and a writing reflection question included. Both have two levels, one with a word bank and sentence frames.
