World Holiday Reading Passages Bundle

Do you want to help your students learn about holidays and customs from around the world? Use this set of reading passages and supporting materials to teach students about world holidays. There are two levels of reading passages, picture cards, writing pages, and sentence frames for each holiday set.

Harvest Festival Reading Passages: Help students learn about the holidays of Thanksgiving in the USA, Zhong Qiu Jie in China, Chuseok in Korea, and Pongal in India.

Festival of Lights Reading Passages: Help students learn about the holidays of Diwali, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa.

Spinning Tops: Learn about how spinning tops are used around the world, including dreidels for the holiday of Chanukah.

Through reading passages and activities, students will practice their reading comprehension skills as they learn about holidays from around the world.

Each reading passage comes in two reading levels. There are pictures included to support ELLs.

Vocabulary Picture Cards & Sentence Frames

There are picture cards in color and black and white for each holiday. There are also sentence frames to help students talk and write about each holiday or compare and contrast different holidays.

Graphic Organizer & Writing Reflection

There are graphic organizers and a writing reflection question included. Both have two levels, one with a word bank and sentence frames.
